The Sustainable Clothing Roadmap is a voluntary clothing industry initiative co-ordinated by the UK Dept of the Environment (Defra) to improve the environmental and ethical performance of clothing. Established in Sept. 2007, the aim is to work with industry stakeholders to fast track best practice through:
- Establishing sound evidence on key impacts and where action will be most effective
- Agree actions (short to long term) in priority areas (individual organisations and industry wide)
- Providing a platform to disseminate industry best practice to catalyse change throughout the sector.
This conference, by invitation only, is aimed at organisations with an active interest in sustainable clothing and includes:-
- latest updates on the Roadmap evidence projects, actions by industry and exhibits
- launch of the 3rd update to the Sustainable Clothing Action Plan
- a reception and exhibition visit to the Estethica sustainable clothing trade show at London Fashion Week.
- an opportunity for stakeholders to participate and inform next steps.
The conference will start at 10:00 with registration and exhibition viewing from 9:30 and will close at 17:30, followed by the Fashion Futures Launch Reception, hosted by Levis Strauss & Co and Forum for the Future at 18:00.
